Dear Chess Friends,

AIDEF wishes to participate in the current development of online chess by organizing two new team competitions exclusively reserved for its members who can hire a team in each competition.

Attendance is free of charge

These tournaments will now be included in the annual calendar of competitions organized by AIDEF.

The first competition « Coupe d’échecs en ligne par équipes de la Francophonie » will be reserved for amateur players selected by their federation to participate in the tournament.

The second competition « Championnat d’échecs en ligne par équipes de la Francophonie » will be reserved for the best players selected by their federation to participate in the tournament.

The tournaments will take place respectively on the weekends of 15 & 16 May and 29 & 30 May 2021

The pairings are made according to the swiss system, in 11 rounds, the rate of play is 15 minutes + 5 seconds per move.

The chosen game platform is TORNELO, Laurent Freyd will organize the competition and officiate as chief arbiter. Teams will be registered by the AIDEF.

All participating teams will receive an official diploma.

Winning federations will receive a commemorative trophy and their players will each receive a medal.

For the «Coupe d’échecs en ligne par équipes de la Francophonie», the 4 players of the winning team will also receive a copy of the album «Chess in Art» https://chessinart.com

For the «Championnat d’échecs en ligne par équipes de la Francophonie», the 4 players of the winning team will be invited personally (ticket + accommodation) at the end of 2021 at the next Rencontres Internationales des Echecs Francophones.

The awards ceremony, medals and trophies will also take place during the closing dinner of the 8th edition of the Rencontres Internationales des Echecs Francophones (RIDEF).
